Boerin Selina uit Surhuizum op kalender

Selina Bonthuis is boerin op de boerderij van haar schoonfamilie in Surhuizum aan de Uterwei en had zichzelf aangemeld voor de boerinnen kalender van 2025. Met haar foto wil ze een boodschap achterlaten: “Boerinnen kinne ek moai en seksy wêze.”

“Selina wil het stereotype van de ‘lomp ogende boerin’ doorbreken en laten zien dat boerinnen ook vrouwelijk en aantrekkelijk kunnen zijn. Haar deelname is meer dan een persoonlijke keuze; ze wil ook aandacht vragen voor de problemen in de landbouwsector. “It giet gewoan net goed mei de sektor en mei ús leeftiidskategory dat op de kalinder stiet wolle wy sjen litte dat de nije generaasje ek noch troch wol mei boeren.”

Fotoshoot
Het was de eerste keer dat Selina deelnam aan een professionele fotoshoot, en ze kijkt er positief op terug. “Se sette dy sa del dat je je selsfersekere fiele. It is net sa dat se hielendal bepale hoe’t je der op komme te stean. Ik keas bewust foar in bytsje bleat, mar net tefolle – it moat spannend bliuwe.” vertelt ze. Hoewel je maar één keer op de Boerinnenkalender kan staan, zou Selina in de toekomst graag nog een keer meedoen. “Ik hie my sa wer ynskreaun.” De boerin heeft voornamelijk positieve reacties gekregen. “Fansels binne der wol minsken dy’t sizze ‘wêrom moat it sa’, mar it is foar de leuk en we dogge it foar in goed doel.”

Liefde voor het boerenleven
Vroeger werkte Selina bij de supermarkt als bijbaantje, maar ze miste iets: de koeien en kalfjes. Ze is blij dat ze haar plek in het boerenleven heeft gevonden. “Bist hiel frij en bist de hiele dei bûten mei de bisten. Hast dochs in stikje fan foldwaning ast klear bist mei it fuorjen fan de bisten en de bisten rêste kinne.

Miss Boerin-verkiezing
Naast haar deelname aan de kalender, doet Selina ook mee aan de Miss Boerin-verkiezing op 26 oktober, waarbij de boerinnen drie rondes lopen en mensen kunnen stemmen op hun favoriete Miss Boerin.
