Meint Beukema Classic MTB Toertocht

De vereniging Surhúster Fyts Ploechje bereidt de derde Meint Beukema Classic voor, een mountainbike tocht die gehouden zal worden in de kerstvakantie op donderdag 28 december. Na circa 12,5 jaar is het Surhúster Fyts Ploechje onlangs een officiële vereniging geworden, onder de vlag van de wielersportbond NTFU. Tijdens de oprichtingsvergadering in het eigen clubhuis schreven zich 20 leden in. De vorige twee edities werden een succes en dit stimuleerde de organisatie tot het uitzetten van een nieuwe route. De wisselende landschappen door de Friese Wouden maken het tot een aantrekkelijke route. Het uitgangspunt is dat iedereen mee kan doen. Er zijn twee afstanden, een van 30 kilometer en een van 59 kilometer voor de iets meer getrainde deelnemers. Vorig jaar viel een dag van tevoren 50 mm regen, wat er voor zorgde dat de korte route te zwaar werd. Dit jaar hebben we geprobeerd daar rekening mee te houden door meer gravelpaden in de route op te nemen. Het is een bepijlde route met onderweg meerdere stops op prachtige locaties, waar een lekkere versnapering helpt om de energie op peil te houden. De start en finish is bij het MFC De Delfeart in Surhuizum. Bij terugkomst wacht een gratis kom warme snert met worst en is het nog een gezellig vertoeven.
