Echtpaar Hansma-Elzinga viert diamanten huwelijk

Het was woensdag 27 oktober een bijzondere dag voor Sytze Hansma en Pietsje Hansma-Elzinga. Zij vierden deze dag hun 60-jarig huwelijksjubileum. Burgemeester Oebele Brouwer bracht het echtpaar een bezoek om ze te feliciteren namens de gemeente.

Sytze Hansma (1945) uit Surhuizum stapte 60 jaar geleden in het huwelijksbootje met Pietsje Hansma-Elzinga (1945) uit Harkema. Het jonge echtpaar ging in de geboorteplaats van Sytze wonen. Ze kregen drie zoons en de familie werd later uitgebreid met zeven kleinkinderen.

De heer Hansma werkte tot aan zijn pensioen als timmerman bij verschillende werkgevers. Mevrouw Hansma was voor haar trouwen in dienst bij Fablo, een overhemdenfabriek in Harkema. Zoals gebruikelijk in die tijd stopte ze met werken toen ze ging trouwen. Later, toen het echtpaar kinderen kreeg, droeg zij de zorg voor het huishouden.

Hansma was gedurende 50 jaar secretaris en penningmeester van konijnenfokvereniging 'Het raskonijn’ in Harkema. Hij heeft sinds jaar en dag een moestuin, waar hij veel plezier aan beleeft. Het echtpaar woont nog zelfstandig en samen redden ze het nog goed. (Foto's: Geert Huisman en Loeky de Vries)
